Not as good as Lost and Found, but there's just something about the illustrations in these books that really captures my son's attention。 The idea of capturing a star is precious, and I look forward to talking my kiddo to the ocean one day to see if we can see a starfish。 Not as good as Lost and Found, but there's just something about the illustrations in these books that really captures my son's attention。 The idea of capturing a star is precious, and I look forward to talking my kiddo to the ocean one day to see if we can see a starfish。 。。。more

The money is worth the graphics and illustrations。 An enjoyable read for kids

Really good, but the ending was so sudden。

Such a lovely story! 💛 I know this is the first out of the four books but it feels like this story should be read as the third one between the third and fourth one。

Vaguely cute art。 I wanted to like this。 I also wanted to hate this。 Basically a silly。 But I'm thinking this book would morph into whatever you wanted it to be。 I'm thinking the star at the end was a starfish。 Maybe it was? Maybe it wasn't。 Meh。 Vaguely cute art。 I wanted to like this。 I also wanted to hate this。 Basically a silly。 But I'm thinking this book would morph into whatever you wanted it to be。 I'm thinking the star at the end was a starfish。 Maybe it was? A lovely story about a boy who loves stars so much that he’d like one of his own。 He tries lots of different ways to catch a star。 This would be a good conversation starter for children to discuss how they’d catch a star and consider why the boys ways didn’t work。 It would also be a good book to start a the topic of space as it would help to draw out children’s prior knowledge through questioning - can you catch a star? How big are stars? Etc。I think the story could also represent dreams and aim A lovely story about a boy who loves stars so much that he’d like one of his own。 He tries lots of different ways to catch a star。 This would be a good conversation starter for children to discuss how they’d catch a star and consider why the boys ways didn’t work。 It would also be a good book to start a the topic of space as it would help to draw out children’s prior knowledge through questioning - can you catch a star? I loved the illustration style in this book, and especially liked the childlike wonder that was captured in the art。 The story was imaginative and fun and wonderful for children。 Potentially a children's home library buy once the twins are a bit older。 I loved the illustration style in this book, and especially liked the childlike wonder that was captured in the art。 The story was imaginative and fun and wonderful for children。 Potentially a children's home library buy once the twins are a bit older。 。。。more

This book is a great book to read。 I like how simple the plot was and it was a easy read。 The boy is trying to catch a star because he wants it to be his friend。 It teaches kids to not give up on their dreams。 I loved how simple it was to follow along。 I also enjoyed how beautifully the illustrations were。 I would recommend this book at anyone。 It is a type of book that students would enjoy in a classroom。 I highly recommend this book to anyone!

A lovely story book, perfect for KS1 which emphasises the skill of patience and that things may not always seem to be how we expect。 This story of a little boy who eagerly wants to catch a star and has managed to achieve this when he’s about to give up。 Great story to read and relate to children’s day to day life, friendships and the importance of carrying on no matter what and not giving up。

A really lovely book about a boy who wants to catch a star。 He tries absolutely everything he can think of - and just as he’s about to give up and head home, he spots a star in the ocean。 He waits patiently on the shore and manages to catch it。 A lovely story that shows you that things aren’t always where you expect them to be - and that you should never give up!

Sarita

A book of Oliver Jeffers about never letting go your dreams, even if they seem impossible <3

Beth

They loved this and it was a great teaching tool on perseverance。

A heart warming tale of a young boys quest to overcome loneliness。 Or an alternative take on imaginative play。 I thought I’d logged this on reading it last year, but apparently not。

This book is a cute story and has super cute illustrations。 I believe many students would love this story and the personification the authors gives the star。 I definitely recommend this story to young students。

How to Catch a Star is a brilliant book to use in a KS1 classroom。 There are multiple discussion points and curricular links to do with reflections and day and night。 The illustrations are warm and eye capturing, I particularly love the shapes of the stars as they are very child-like drawn。 The book teaches important values such as patience which could be used to discuss with a class of children。

Shana

Just adorable。

Ojalá, algún día, encontrar su propia estrella。

A beautiful book about a little boy who tries to catch a star。 There is confusion around seeing stars in the daytime, reflections and star fish, all of which would provide great opportunities for discussion。 These could link to science by looking at day and night and how the stars are still there we just can’t see them, as well as reflections。 The illustrations are lovely and really make the book。 I’d read the story with FS and KS1 children。

Absolutely wonderful!
